NY Smallmouth Bass Trips
Upper Delaware River
Andrew Moy provides float and wade trips on the upper Delaware for smallmouth bass during the warmer months. Pound for pound they are one of the hardest fighting freshwater fish. They run, "bull-dog", jump and smash flies with a vengeance! It's great to watch your white or chartreuse streamer coming through the water and then disappear as it gets engulfed or a popper getting exploded on as a hungry bass attacks!
The Upper Delaware was placed by Field & Stream Magazine as "One of the Top 5 Smallmouth Bass Rivers in the US". The upper Delaware's beauty along with its wildlife and fish makes for a tremendous day on the water. Frequently, bald eagles, deer, beavers, muskrats and various wildlife can be seen.
These trips are a great way to improve traditional casting, learn or improve spey casting, or just come out to have fun! Smallmouth are usually very eager and catch rates can be high. This is also a great way to learn about smallmouth habits and have the opportunity to fish both on the surface and underneath with both floating and sinking lines. There are also other species in the river including big chubs, trout, shad and at times striped bass or maybe even a musky!
Upper Delaware Smallmouth Float and/or Wade Trips
$475 full day - includes lunch (1-2 people) - 8-10 hours
$350 half day - includes snacks (1-2 people) - 4-5 hours
