NativeRun GLX Steelhead & Salmon Rods
It's
the preparation - the pursuit - the prize that makes flyfishing for steelhead
and salmon so totally consuming. Whether you're skating dries on big water for
those super-aggressive summer steelies or probing the depths of a deep green
Northwest river in early November for a big chromer King, it's that sudden rush
that overwhelms you when the fly stops. It's all about long days on the river.
It's long fly rods and long casts, hooking big, powerful fish that make quick,
nerve-shattering runs. It's about fireside stories and comparing your day with
that of your friend's. More importantly, it's sharing our passion for flyfishing
along with an intimate understanding of what anglers expect in a fly rod that
makes the creation of our Native Run Series even more satisfying. These rods are
made to handle big water, big flies and big fish. They're powerful, smooth
casting and beautiful to look at, not to mention how well they fish! They have
graceful tapers creating fast actions that allow you to fish all types of lines
effectively. They range from 9- to 10-feet in length and handle 7- to 9-weight
fly lines. They give you positive line control for technical mending, managing
indicators and punching out those long casts. Our proprietary GLX performance
makes them unbelievably sensitive, but the sheer lack of overall weight is what
makes them a pleasure to fish all day. All you need to do is focus, keep casting
and be ready. When the strike finally comes, you'll be glad you've got a GLX
Native Run fly rod in your hand. It handles the fish so well you can concentrate
on the fun stuff - like not banging your knuckles with those whirling reel
handles. These 4-piece rods all come with a soft, protective rod sock and travel
tube. Get your camera ready!!

G Loomis Stinger Series
Two Hand Rods
G Loomis Stinger 12'6" 450 Grain
This rod is for smaller rivers and gentle
presentations. Don't be fooled however, it will deliver the long cast, and land
a strong fish when challenged. Greatest with small to medium size flies, even a
modest salmon, searun brown or rainbow will put a major grin on your jaw. Nice
with Scandi heads around 30-35 feet.
G Loomis Stinger 13' 500 Grain
The action is
just slightly more smooth than the 12'6 or 13'6" series, and can be used in a wide
variety of casting styles. If one rod could do it all in spey casting and
fishing, this is an eager candidate.
G Loomis Stinger 13'6" 550 Grain
Now we're getting serious about the far shore. The 13'6" foot length is comfortable
handling longer shooting heads, 39 to 41 feet and heavier heads have greater
turnover power at distance, to straighten leaders with larger flies.
G Loomis Stinger 15'1" 700 Grain
We're at the top of the food chain here.
Faster and crisp, this rod is a perfect match for full length 42 to 43 feet
heads. This rod is for large fish and casting larger air resistant tube flies. A
stick for the hard core big fish and big cast Spey Bros.

G Loomis Greased Line Series
Two Hand Rods
G Loomis Greased Line 14' 8/9
Traditional style spey casters have long enjoyed covering water with floating
lines, making long casts without retrieving after each cast. this 14 foot #8/9
is a medium/light rod within this catagory. It has a comfort casting zone of 65
to 85 feet, and is light enough to make playing fish in the 10lb. range a joy.
The rod action is moderate, and powerful. Anglers fishing the Gaspey Pennisula
in Quebec rivers from a canoe, may find this model just the answer to cast to
both sides with minimal effort. It handles casting all but the largest flies
with comfort. This rod provides the additional speed and power for the heavier flies needed
for larger trout and early returning sea run schools but maintains the light
feel and sensitive casting for those who enjoy the challenge of gearing down.
G Loomis Greased Line 15' 7/8
This is a dry fly long liner delight. It has great feel as it loads to for the D
loop, with just enough butt stiffness to propel your offering 90 feet plus. At
the light end of Greased Line style, this GLX rod is wonderful for smaller fish
with enough power to handle a big one should it find your fly. For casters
without lots of hand strength, looking for a longer rod to help get extra
distance, this rod is the lightest weight 15 foot rod available. Experts may be
surprised how well a #7/8 long belly line turns over and stretches for distance,
even into light wind. Tremendous control of the drift is had with its 15 foot
length. If you're seeking a "Far and Fine" Greased Line rod, look no
further.
G Loomis Greased Line 15' 8/9
A step up from the #7/8, the 15'0" #
8/9 provides greater wind penetration, and added distance with flies into the
small /0's. With moderate progressive taper and moderate butt end power, it'll
lift enough line to help form long D loops, and make casts to 90 feet
consistently. Optimal using long belly floating lines, it handles short/mid
belly sink tips with comfort. When using shorter bellies, increase line size by
one size. This is a versatile rod for most salmonids excluding the biggest
representatives in very fast water. A great rod for those who need a four piece
for travel and want to fish for large trout, small salmon and steehead. It has
the reserve power required for longer casts and longer battles on the
streamside.
G Loomis Greased Line 15' 9/10
The rod power needed to hurl a vast amount of long belly #9/10 line is like a
study in torque vs horsepower of your favorite brand of V-12 engine. Power and
grace exemplify the qualities of this size rod. This model can cast all fly
sizes with long belly floating and sinking lines. It still has a moderate
progressive taper to give you feel and a fine sense of timing the D loop. Should
the opportunity present itself to overhead cast, the rod will lay it out without
tailing the loop. For bigger water conditions this is the 15 foot power tool for
the job.
G Loomis Greased Line 15' 10/11
Not many 15 foot rods can carry a long belly # 10/11 at distance, with control
and positive nature as this one. Not many rods do it with soul and feeling. Not
many rods handle sinking lines as well as floating. This rod says yes to it all.
the progressive moderate taper is ideal for fishing deep and fast water, with
heavy brass tube flies and hooking into big fish. No matter the wind, this rod
takes on all challengers.
G Loomis Greased Line 16' 9/10
So you wand to fish the other side of the fiver? Matched with a long belly
#9/10, this rod will deliver 100 feet + distance with a high degree of finesse
and smoothness, painting the far shore with ease. made with GLX, it is not a
heavy weight in hand, only heavy on performance. You will be highly impressed by
how much line you can pick up, initiating a single spey cast. You will be more
amazed at the line control during the swing by virtue of a 16 foot rod length.
For sheer casting pleasure, this is one of the best rods an angler can swing.
G Loomis Greased Line 17' 10/11
So you want to fish another beat, but your gillie is off having a dram
somewhere? No problem, stay where you are, just string up your 17 foot #10/11
GLX Greased Line rod, and make a cast from there. 17 foot, GLX and a #10/11, it
speaks for itself. It can cast into the backing at will, if you like. Change of
direction is effortless, as you can pick a tremendous length. Too big? Not
necessarily, as the big rod makes distance so effortless it offsets the need to
bash lesser rods, and so you may find you are less fatigued after a session. It
loads down below mid point of rod at 90 feet, to provide the caster with a
comfortable feel, and sense of control. This is only the starting point for this
rod. Do not be suprised if you wish your line had a bit more length. For big
rivers, big fish, big flies and a grand time, try a 17' GLX.

G Loomis Dredger Series
Two Hand Rods
G Loomis Dredger 13'4" 7/8 GLX
As the fall rains begin and the rivers start to swell, the 13'4" #7/8
provides added distance and control. This model is still very light in hand and
capable of comfortable 40 to 80 foot casts with all the popular mid size flies.
this welter weight can deal with some wind, loading moderately deep, to mix it
up with most steelhead and silver salmon. Use a short belly floating line for
surface action, and loop on a short piece of sink tip as needed for a great day
on the Dechutes, Bulkley or Sol Duc rivers.
G Loomis Dredger 13'9" 8/9 GLX
This is the "go to" rod to cover
northwest steelhead under a wide range of river conditions, lines and flies. Rod
action is moderate with a positive feel, allowing the angler to use a bit more
authority lifting heavier sinking lines with heavily weighted flies, resetting
the anchor, then delivering a long cast. Expect effortless 50 to 90 feet casts,
with short belly head and running monofilament. This rod is at home on larger
western rivers where continuous longer casts are needed to cover the run and
battle big fish when they decide to nail your fly. It is a must rod for trips to
the Dean, Babine, Kispiox rivers. Wind on the Rio Grande, Argentina, what wind?
G Loomis Dredger 14' 9/10 GLX
Wind, rain, long casts? Bring it on! Where
the waters run deep and swift, slinging and swinging heavy sink tips with big
weighted flies at the end, this rod makes light work handling the chores. It is
an excellent choice for winter steelhead, big silvers, and chinook salmon under
all conditions, with casts 75 to 100 feet being the norm. This rod is designed
for #9/10 short belly taper sink tip lines, with progressive moderate action. It
is also a highly capable "Greased Line" rod by dropping down to a
mid-belly size #8/9 line. If you're headed to the Thompson, Skeena, Skagit, or
Snake and need to make big casts, for big fish, this is the rod to do the job.
