We also inventory an abundant supply of both fresh and saltwater fly tying material, much of which, is hard to find. No matter what species you pursue Tight Lines has the tying materials, equipment, experience and knowledge to help make your next fishing trip a success.

Tight Lines is located just off route 80 and convenient to routes 23, 287, 280 and 3. We are within 30 minutes of the George Washington Bridge and within 30 minutes of the NY state border via Route 287. Click our contact page for contact info and directions.

Trout Academy

Learn all of the basics to becoming a trout angler. 3 instructors will walk you through the steps to learning how to fly fish for trout.  It's a full day class, lunch will be provided.  For more info please contact us at 973 244 5990.

Bahamas Bonefish Trip

November 29th-December 6th we will be hosting our bi-annual trip to Andros South Lodge in South Andros, Bahamas. The lodge offers some of the finest bonefishing in the world not to mention excellent accommodations, superb local cuisine, and world class guides. For more info click here. 

Atlantic Salmon Trip

In October of 2008 Tight Lines and our sister company East Coast Spey will be hosting an exciting trip to the Miramichi River. The trip will be for 5 days of fishing and will include spey instruction for 3 out of the 5 days. the instruction will take place in-between the morning and afternoon fishing sessions. Two-handed saltwater
Now is the time for striper fishing, and there's no better way to chase them then with a two-handed rod. For saltwater fishing, two-handed rods can be used for both overhead and spey casting techniques. Overhead casting is ideal for surf conditions and areas where there is plenty of back casting room. Spey techniques are ideal for areas of moving water and places where there is minimal room for a back-cast. Both techniques give the angler advantages in distance, ease of execution and changing direction, doing so with much less effort and fatigue.

Spey Casting Classes
Salmon and steelhead season is coming fast. Now is the time to learn or strengthen your current skills for the  coming fall season.  We will be having spey casting classes in August and September just in time for the fall runs.

Single hand spey
Spey casting is not only for two handed rods.  Learning to spey cast with your single handed rod will make you a much more efficient and successful trout fisherman here on your home waters of NJ.  Imagine being able to make effortless casts with no back-cast room and to never worry about the trees and brush surrounding you.  
Saturday August 30th at 4:30 PM we will be doing a single hand spey demonstration free of charge on the Passaic River 10 minutes from the shop.  Bring your rod along and try your hand at spey! Registration required.  For more info or to register, please call 973 244 5990.
