Tight Lines recommends fly fishing trips, through independent guides. Whether you're looking to do a local trip for trout in NJ or the Catskills of NY, a day on the ocean chasing stripers, bluefish, or false albacore, or learning the Great Lake tributaries for salmon and steelhead.  Give Tight Lines a call to learn about places to fish and with whom to go with.

NJ offers fly fishing for trout in small streams.  The rivers here are generally well shaded and offer good fishing all fall, winter and spring and generally into early summer.  Some seasons, if the weather is cool and wet, the fly fishing for trout can last all summer long.  The fishing can be with dries, nymphs and streamers depending upon time of year, water conditions, etc.

The NY Catskills offers great fly fishing for both stocked and wild trout.  Rivers like the East, West and Main branches of the Delaware, the famous Beaverkill, the Willowemoc, the Esopus, and the Neversink.  The rivers here are larger and on the Delaware Rivers, due to the fact that they are cold tailwater fisheries, you will find a population of beautiful strong fighting wild fish.

NJ and NY also offers great fly fishing for striped bass, bluefish, weakfish and false albacore.  Sandy Hook, NY Harbor, Deal, Manasquan inlet, Shark River inlet and Island Beach State Park are a few of the areas where the fishing can be great throughout the season.  The best way to approach these areas are with a guide who has a boat.  There is no better way to access the ocean, learn about it's diversity, and get opportunities to catch these great gamefish.

The Great Lake tributaries offers tremendous fishing for steelhead, salmon and brown trout.  There are many great rivers and streams including the Salmon River, Oswego River, Oak Orchard Creek, Cattaraugus Creek, and countless other small to medium sized rivers and streams.  Some of these rivers have become world class fisheries with unbelievable returns of fish.  The Great Lakes due to their size and lack of natural predators are a great place for these fish to flourish and return to the rivers.
